These are beech wood, vegan bristles (agave and coconut) and made in Italy. (a lot of these brushes are made in china and are using horse hair, or some other animal, and if they come from china it's unclear how the animals are treated). Also the bristles are longer then "usual" it makes it possible to brush the skin lightly. (shorter bristles you have to press more to massage and that is not as effective).
